Believe it or not, this was the second headline in the weekly Animal Science department e-newsletter. Those of you who have lived in Ojai should know that it is (a) the Ground Squirrel Capital of the World and (b) populated by both the four-legged and two-legged varieties. I find it highly amusing that UCD has formed a study on ground squirrels — and yet they do not study them in Ojai. Tsk tsk. What a shame, and what a waste of valuable resources. Just think, they could prove once and for all that Ojai is the aforementioned capital, and they could even provide scientific documentation supporting that claim.
Sigh.
